Biography

ANTHONY McBRIEN

"It's A Long Hard Road" sings rejuvenated Irish Country Music star Anthony McBrien on his album words which describe his own personal struggle to rediscover a career which was hit by several tragedies . Just when it seemed the effervescent Fermanagh Man had the world at his feet it was swept from under him by losing both his parents. The death of the man who had promoted his undisputed talent-the late Brian Finlay, from Cavan was ultimately coming in the midst of Anthony recording his new album and a diary brimful of engagements. Finlay's Death had a devastating effect on his young protégé such was the mutual respect they had for each other. Anthony's guiding light in the music business had gone out and the Derrylin Native, youngest of a family of fourteen seven boys and seven girls was finding it difficult and hard to cope. Life was losing shape and colour. Anthony was beginning to lose heart and ambition. Anthony's career had previously been so succesful two years before and the popularity he had enjoyed through the release of his first album "Darlin" suddenly began counting for little. Anthony mcbrien had lost zest for the stage and his will to perform his flight into stardom had fallen from the skies or so it seemed.

***ENTER GENE STUART*** Gene Stuart a legend in Irish Country Music who was determined to persuade Anthony to complete an unfinished album and wean him back into business. Gene readily admits the re-launching of Anthony McBrien was a slow and patient experience but once never did he give up. we are talking about an artist with unlimited talent and potential. Gene Stuart was always convinced Anthony should return to the Music Business where he belongs. Gene always had faith . The results can be heard and enjoyed by the album which speaks for itself the recording is one of orginality , sincere singing and deep emotions.

Anthony is very friendly easy to take to, sincere and so easy to talk to . He is someone you can sit down with and talk over your problems or success with.

Just as Gene Stuart has put life back Anthony McBrien the genial performer from the shores of Lough Erne had done likewise for Irish Country Music. After listening to Anthony wrap his own inimitable style around such country favourites as "Cant help it If I'm still in love with you" "I Can't Stop Loving you" and The Buck Owens classic "Arms Full Of Empty" you will realise that a song By Anthony McBrien is more than just a collection of words.

This is a song he penned himself five years ago, Shortly after his mothers death.

He wrote this song in memory of his mother, whom he was very close to.

Due to the reaction from performing this song live at his gigs he felt that he should record it to let a wider audience hear it.
